Today is my mom’s birthday! My mom has worked so hard to make sure my siblings and I have had everything she could possibly give us. She made me look so cool, I’m pretty sure the only reason 10% of my friends hung out with me was because my mom was a neat person. I didn’t appreciate it at the time but my mom’s intense involvement kept me out of trouble, mostly because everyone was scared of her, so I wasn’t invited to the trouble making. She managed to raise 4 of us and at a very young age, (I can’t even imagine having a 6 year old and a 3 year old right now) and never complained about it. I can’t fathom all the things she has done for us over the years and all the selfish complaining we did over little things like, who’s night it was for the dishes or tallying up how much was spent on each sibling.
I hope one day I can live life the way she does and constantly be a surprise. I hope that when I’m a mother I can learn to strike the balance of fun, caring and scary. And I hope that one day when all 4 of us are grown up, my mom catches a break. I love you, Mom!
